GIRLS CAMP!

Girls Camp was so fun this year! We got to sleep in tents, layer our skin with bug spray, eat in a cafeteria, hike by some beautiful waterfalls, do funny skits, sing silly songs, cry, laugh, hug, swim, tube, play games, do service, make value babies and stuff, take naps, take classes, make new friends, renew old friendships, pull pranks, play sardines in the lodge after dark, take showers, pee our pants laughing (literally), stay dry, and have just a really good time. Here's just a few pics of our fun week. (There's more where these came from, so you know who to come to if you think there's some pics missing.)

Service with S.M.I.L.E.S.!!

For our activity this week we got to go to Sister Richin's house to do a service project in her yard. She had a lot of raking and sweeping and weeding to do and we were glad to help. It was cool that all the YW were so happy to help and served her with S.M.I.L.E.S. - which also stands for something:
S erve
M ore
"I"

S oul

As we serve with a happy heart, we think about ourselves less and about others more - and this really enlarges our soul, it builds character and enables us to become a little more like our Savior. I really appreciate Mandi's devotional about service from Mosiah 2:17: "And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God." Not only did we serve Margaret and bring her a little bit of your sunshine and light, but you were serving our Heavenly Father by showing Him you care. Thanks girls and great job!
Who's in charge here?

Jamie's Surprise

Since we never got a chance to officially say goodbye to Jamie once she had moved on from Young Women's, we wanted to send her off into grown-up land with a fun surprise. We met at Mandi's to deck out a candy bar poster and then headed over to Jamie's to surprise her with it and have icecream sundaes. MMMMM - so yummy. We love ya Jamie and we'll miss ya!

Youth Temple Trip

Friday May 3, 2008 was a great day! At 6:45 am we met at the Church and then headed off to our Portland Temple to do baptisms for the dead. Being in the temple, dressed in white, with ALL of our young women in attendance, we had a spiritually rich experience. We were able to do the work for around 260 people - just imagine the joy of some of those whom you baptized that were born in the 1600's! We are so blessed to have SUCH amazing, SUCH dedicated, SUCH faithful youth! To top it off, the weather was beautiful and lunch at The Sweet Tomato was scrumptious!

Where's Amy?
Andy's just happy to be here and Parley needs to loosen up!
Mackenzie - could never have guessed biting into a sweet little icecream cone could turn so salty! Mackenzie already planning her payback. "Oh don't worry, " says Mandi. "I've got you right where I want you."

Who me?
So for those of you who were not sitting at the table with Mandi and Mackenzie for lunch - you missed out! Mandi dumped a bunch of salt into Mackenzie's ice cream - and by the time she realized it, she was too deep. The war is on now - I'm sure any good prank ideas would be appreciated!
